Every narrative heading into this election cycle told us the Senate map would be too difficult for Democrats. That narrative has collapsed, all due to President Trump’s weakness.
Common Power Executive Director Charles Douglas and I talked through some takeaways from the Democratic primaries, which Senate races organizers should be paying attention to, and so much more.
Charles is sending door knockers to Alaska, where Mary Peltola lost by roughly 7,000 votes in 2024. And Nebraska, where the path runs through an independent. Iowa, Maine, Texas, and North Carolina. We are no longer arguing about whether a flip is possible. We are arguing about which is the best path to get there.
The primaries told us why. The winning message has been working-class economics, and it travels across age, income, and region.
