I joined Money, Power Politics on MS NOW once again for the full hour. The brilliant Antonia Hylton was filling in for Stephanie Ruhle, and we had a powerhouse panel with MS NOW Senior Editor Anthony Fisher, Democratic strategist Basil Smikle, and CNBC Fast Money Contributor Dan Nathan.
We covered a lot of ground, but three things kept connecting back to each other. Trump’s numbers are cratering. ICE keeps moving without accountability while seeking more power. And Trump keeps enriching himself while raising our prices and spending our taxpayer dollars on vanity projects.
You can watch key moments from the appearance above, read key takeaways below, and check out the first two full segments of the appearance linked at the bottom of this piece from YouTube.
I also just wanted to thank you all for your support! It’s because all of you who like, share, and subscribe to this work that I get these opportunities to speak truth on bigger stages. Just wanted to share a note of gratitude.
Ok, now let’s dive in.

Trump Is Leading The GOP Into Political Ruin
The polling this month has been brutal for Trump, and the number that matters most is not his topline approval. It is what is happening to him inside his own party.
Multiple polls have found Trump’s overall approval rating and support among Republicans at an all-time low. The American people are rejecting his abuses of power, betrayals of his campaign promises, fruitless war, and price hikes.
I pointed out that Trump will never do what Pelosi did in 2018, when she told Democrats to run against her personally if that is what it took to win their districts. Trump is going to demand that every Republican candidate defend all of his unpopular policies.
That is a losing position heading into the midterms. He is leading the GOP into political ruin.
I did a standalone video on Trump’s declining approval ratings if you’d like to dive deeper:
ICE Doesn’t Need Shock Gloves. They Need Accountability.
Antonia asked what happens when you put a tool like an electric shock glove into the hands of a force with an excessive force problem. My answer was that it escalates, and that we already have four cases proving nobody will answer for it.
The killers of Renee Good, Alex Pretti, Joan Sebastian Guerrero, and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo are still walking free. There have been no criminal charges.
Instead, DHS has lied to try to protect them. In one case, they claimed a man used his vehicle as a weapon, a claim his own coworkers directly disputed.
I said that if these were police officers, we would have seen faster accountability than this even before George Floyd. The proposed shock gloves would give officers a quieter way to hurt people, where you might not even know it is happening. It must be shut down.

Trickle-Up Economics Into Donald’s Pockets
Politico found that 65% of Americans are dissatisfied or upset about Trump’s construction projects. It’s not complicated as to why. These projects are a visual representation of his desecration of the office and self-interested grifts.
Trump is grifting billions while raising prices on Americans and spending nearly $900M of our taxpayer dollars on his vanity projects.
Our affordability crisis is the culmination of the lie of trickle-down economics. Now we have trickle-up economics into Donald’s pockets.
I argued that if Democrats are smart, they will tie these projects directly to his profiteering off the presidency. It is a visual representation of his desecration of the office.
I did a standalone video on Trump’s grifts if you’d like to dive deeper:
The Bottom Line
Trump is at his weakest point politically, and yet he is still grifting, spending our taxpayer dollars on his vanity projects, and refusing to hold anyone accountable for people killed by ICE. Those are not separate stories. They are what happens when a president believes there is no cost to anything he does.
The midterms will be that cost.
